Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please make sure you want to proceed before submitting a deletion request.

How to Request Account Deletion

Option 1: In-App Deletion (Coming Soon)

  1. Open The Yo app
  2. Go to Settings or Profile
  3. Tap “Delete Account”
  4. Confirm your request

Option 2: Email Request

Send an email to:

Email: support@bigvibestudios.com

Subject: Account Deletion Request

Include: Your email address associated with your account

We will process your request within 7 business days.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • Profile Information: Your name, email address, phone number, and profile photo
  • Events: All events you created
  • Event History: Your event participation and RSVP history
  • Personal Data: All other personal information associated with your account
  • Notifications: Your push notification preferences and tokens

What We Keep

After account deletion, we may retain:

  • Anonymized Analytics: Aggregate, non-identifiable usage data for service improvement
  • Legal Records: Data required for compliance with legal obligations (e.g., tax records)
  • Safety Records: Records related to fraud prevention or security incidents

This retained data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Data Retention Timeline

  • Account Deletion: Processed within 30 days of your request
  • Backup Systems: Data may remain in backup systems for up to 90 days
  • Legal Hold: Data subject to legal obligations will be retained as required by law

Before You Delete

Consider these alternatives:

  • Update Privacy Settings: Adjust what information is visible to others
  • Disable Notifications: Turn off push notifications without deleting your account
  • Remove Permissions: Revoke location, camera, or contacts access in device settings
